About This

• Four string wound cartridges at 5 micron in the 10 by 4.5 inch big blue size, with four O-rings included. That is a fresh seal at every cartridge change, which is how it should be done and almost never is.
• Depth filtration for heavy sediment. Wound polypropylene cord traps sand, silt, dirt and rust through every layer, holding more debris and clogging slower on well water than a surface filter of the same rating. This is the pre-filter that protects a whole house system.
• Compatible replacement for 5 micron PC40 cartridges, and the same standard size as PC10, 84637, WP5BB97P, 355214-45, CW25-BBS and other 10 by 4.5 inch big blue wound cartridges. WP10BB97P and 355215-45 fit too if you prefer a coarser grade.
• Check the size before ordering. This is the 10 by 4.5 inch big blue format, not the 20 inch big blue and not a slim line cartridge. The O-ring is what actually seals a housing, not the threads, so replacing it at each change is the cheapest insurance against a leak.
• This is sediment media: it captures particles and nothing else. There is no carbon in a string wound cartridge, so it does not reduce chlorine, taste or odor. Replace when the pressure at your taps starts dropping. CFS is an independent brand, a compatible replacement and not an OEM part.
