About This

• A universal inline filter for the water line feeding a refrigerator, ice maker or under sink faucet. It is a sealed cartridge that fits into the line itself rather than into a housing, so there is no sump to unscrew and nothing to replace but the whole unit.
• Granular activated carbon reduces chlorine, bad taste and odor right at the appliance. That matters most on ice and drinking water, where the taste of treated water carries through in a way it does not when you are washing or cooking with it.
• It also works as the post-filter on a reverse osmosis system, sitting last in the chain and polishing the water on its way to the faucet. That is the position where an inline cartridge takes out anything the storage tank may have contributed while the water sat in it.
• This is an inline cartridge for a quarter inch water line, not a whole house filter. If you are filtering the main supply into a building you want a housing and a 10 or 20 inch cartridge instead; this one is sized for the small line that feeds a single appliance.
• Carbon exhausts rather than clogging. It gives no warning by dropping your flow; it simply stops reducing taste and odor. Change about every six months, and flush a new one for a few minutes before drinking from it. CFS is an independent brand, a compatible replacement and not an OEM part.
