• SIX CARTRIDGES, ONE ORDER – Six 10 x 2.5 in string wound cartridges for standard whole house housings. String wound is a depth filter: the yarn is wound so the passages get tighter from the outside in, which lets the cartridge hold sediment through its full thickness rather than loading up on the surface and blinding off early. At a typical single-family draw one cartridge runs about three months, so six covers roughly eighteen months of scheduled changes.
• BUILT FOR DIRTY WATER – Well water, older galvanised plumbing and lines disturbed by street work all carry particulate that a household filter has to handle. At 5 micron this cartridge catches sand, silt, rust flakes, scale and grit before they reach your fixtures, water heater and appliances. If your water runs cloudy or leaves grit in an aerator screen, sediment is what you are seeing.
• CHECK YOUR SIZE AND YOUR GRADE – Fits any standard housing built for a 9.75 x 2.5 in cartridge, including the common clear and blue whole house housings. Replaces W30W on size. String wound is graded by micron, not by material — 5 micron is a general-purpose grade. Coarser grades last longer on heavy sediment; finer grades catch more but clog sooner and can drop your pressure.
• MATCH THE FILTER TO YOUR WATER – Sediment is a first stage, not a complete answer. It does not affect chlorine, taste or odor — for that, run a carbon cartridge after this one in a two-stage housing. Sediment first, carbon second, so the carbon is not clogging with grit it was not built for. If you are on a well and have not had the water tested, a test tells you which stages you actually need.
