• FOUR CARTRIDGES, ONE SEASON OR MORE – Four 10 x 2.5 in carbon block cartridges for standard housings. Compressed carbon holds the media in a fixed bed, so water moves through evenly rather than finding the low-resistance paths a loose granular bed develops as it ages. That density is what makes a block effective on chlorine taste and odor. At a typical draw one cartridge runs about three months of steady use.
• BUILT FOR HOSE WATER – Campground and marina spigots are the reason this cartridge exists. City water at a hookup is often heavily chlorinated, and a warm hose lying in the sun adds a flavour of its own before the water ever reaches your tap. The carbon block reduces chlorine taste and odor and reduces fine particulate, so what comes out of the galley tap tastes like water rather than like the hose.
• CHECK YOUR HOUSING – Replaces cartridges numbered POE12GHGACB on size and fits any standard housing built for a 9 3/4 x 2 1/2 in cartridge, in an RV or boat bay or under a sink at home. Measure before ordering: a 20 in housing and a 4.5 in Big Blue housing both take a different cartridge. An inline hose filter is a different product again and this will not fit one.
• STORING IT BETWEEN TRIPS – A carbon cartridge that has been wet and then sits dry for weeks is worth replacing rather than reusing, which is why a four pack suits seasonal use: fit a fresh one at the start of a trip and do not worry about what happened to the old one over the winter. If your water also carries sediment, run a sediment cartridge ahead of the carbon.
