About This

• Two 5 micron coconut shell carbon block cartridges that reduce chlorine, bad taste and odor at the tap. A direct replacement for SCWH-5 cartridges in HF-150A, HF-160, HF-360A and HF-365 under sink housings. Two cartridges covers about half a year at a quarterly change, or a full year if you change every six months.
• Solid carbon block rather than loose granules. The carbon is pressed into a block, so water is pushed through the media instead of channeling around it as it can in a granular cartridge. That contact is what reduces chlorine taste and odor, and at 5 micron the block also captures fine sediment on the way through.
• Fits the standard 10 by 2.5 inch slim line size, so beyond the HF series it also drops into WFPFC8002, WFPFC9001, WHCF-WHWC, FXWTC and any other housing built around that cartridge. If the one you are pulling out measures 10 by 2.5 inches, this fits regardless of the name on the housing.
• Measure before ordering, because this is the slim line cartridge and not the 4.5 inch big blue. The two look broadly similar in a photograph and are not interchangeable, and a big blue housing will simply swallow a slim line cartridge without sealing against it.
• Carbon exhausts rather than clogging, and that catches people out. A sediment cartridge warns you it is finished by dropping your water pressure; carbon gives no such signal and simply stops reducing taste and odor while the flow stays the same. Change on a schedule, typically every three to six months. Compatible replacements made by CFS, not original manufacturer parts.
