About This

• Two carbon block cartridges at 10 micron in the 20 by 4.5 inch big blue size, replacing C2-02, IHS12-D4, IHS22-D4 and S12Q-WHSC. At a six to twelve month change that covers a year to two years on one housing, and carbon keeps indefinitely in its packaging.
• Solid carbon block rather than loose granules. The carbon is pressed into a block, so water is pushed through the media instead of channeling around it as it can in a granular cartridge. That contact is what reduces chlorine, bad taste and odor.
• On a whole house line this treats every tap in the building rather than just the kitchen. The shower, the laundry and the outside taps all get the same water, which is the practical difference between a whole house carbon cartridge and an under sink one.
• Check the size before ordering. This is the 20 by 4.5 inch big blue format, not the 10 inch big blue and not the slim line 20 by 2.5 inch cartridge. All three look similar in a photograph and none are interchangeable, so measure the one you are pulling out.
• Carbon exhausts rather than clogging. A sediment cartridge warns you it is finished by dropping your water pressure; carbon gives no such signal and simply stops reducing taste and odor while the flow stays the same. Change on a schedule. CFS is an independent brand, a compatible replacement and not an OEM part.
