• COCONUT SHELL CARBON BLOCK AT HIGH FLOW – Coconut shell carbon is denser than coal based media, and pressing it into a solid block means water is pushed through the carbon rather than channeling around it. At 20 by 4.5 inches there is enough media to hold whole house flow while still giving contact time. The 10 micron rating is coarse on purpose here, so it keeps pressure up ahead of a UV chamber. Change about every 3 months.
• BETTER-TASTING WATER FROM EVERY SOURCE – Whether your home runs on municipal tap water or a private well, the carbon reduces the chlorine taste and odor that make water unpleasant to drink and cook with — better-tasting water from the system you already own. For certified reduction of specific contaminants, look for cartridges tested to NSF/ANSI 53 for those claims.

Sediment media captures sand, silt, dirt and rust. For any specific contaminant you are concerned about, look for a system certified to the NSF/ANSI standard that names it. If you are on a private well, start with a water test.
