About This

• Three-cartridge prefilter set for Ultima VII and Ultima 7 five-stage RO systems: one sediment, two carbon.
• WHAT IS IN THE BOX AND WHERE IT GOES - Three cartridges covering stages one through three. The sediment cartridge goes in first and holds sand, silt, dirt and rust. The two carbon cartridges follow in stages two and three, reducing chlorine and the tastes and smells that ride along with it. Ordering the three together means one box covers the whole prefilter change instead of three separate part numbers.
• WHY THE PREFILTERS MATTER MOST - Chlorine reaching a reverse osmosis membrane shortens its working life, so stages two and three are what protect the most expensive part of the system. Changing prefilters on schedule is cheaper than changing membranes early.
• FITS ULTIMA VII AND ULTIMA 7 FIVE-STAGE SYSTEMS - Standard 10 inch cartridges for the stage one through three housings. The reverse osmosis membrane is not included and neither is the inline post-filter; this set covers the prefilters only. If your system takes a different cartridge length, check the housing before ordering.
• MATCH THE FILTER TO YOUR WATER - Service intervals depend on what is in your supply and how much water you run. Well water or heavy sediment typically means changing more often; light municipal use typically stretches the interval. Many owners get about twelve months from a set. Watch your flow rate rather than the calendar.
