• EVERYTHING TO DO THE SERVICE - The kit ships with a sump wrench and two housing O-rings alongside the cartridges and membrane. Housings grip hard after a year in service and a strap wrench can crack the plastic before it breaks one loose. Fresh O-rings matter too, since a flattened seal is what most housing leaks turn out to be rather than damaged plastic.
• FIVE STAGES IN ORDER - The sediment filter goes first, holding back the sand, silt and rust that would load the stages behind it. The carbon stages follow, reducing chlorine before the water reaches the membrane, since chlorine reaching a thin film composite membrane shortens its service life. The 50 GPD membrane reduces dissolved solids. The post filter polishes the stored taste on the way to the faucet.
• CHECK THE POST FILTER FITTING - The inline post filter on this kit is quick connect, pushing onto 1/4 inch tubing with a collet rather than screwing on. If your current post filter threads on and off, choose the NPT option from the size selector on this page instead - the two do not interchange without adapters. The membrane is a 50 GPD 1812 element and replaces TW30-1812-50, W-1812-50, TFM-50, TLC-50-M and 560018.
• ALSO FITS THESE SYSTEMS - Beyond the Ultima VII, the same set covers the 5SV, the WP5, the newer RO5, the newer Ultra-Micron and the older WRI five stage systems. The cartridges are standard 10 by 2.5 inch and the membrane is a standard 1812, so it also fits RCC7, ROES-50, ROES-75, RO-45, RO-90, RO5DX, RTW5, OROS-50, WP5-50, KR15 and KR10, and most other systems built around standard filter bowls.
